1. Introduction
EasyTransitGuide ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your personal data. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Swedish data protection law.
2. Who We Are
EasyTransitGuide is operated from Sweden as a hobbyverksamhet, a hobby-based activity under Swedish law, not a registered business. This means EasyTransitGuide is run by an individual driven by a genuine passion for helping travellers navigate Sweden with confidence. Any revenue generated supports the continuation of that passion and the development of the guide ecosystem.
For any privacy-related enquiries, contact us at [email protected].
3. What Data We Collect
We collect the following personal data:
Name and email address — when you make a purchase, donate or contact us via our contact form
Payment information — processed securely by Stripe. We do not store card details directly
Usage data — basic analytics such as pages visited and time on site, collected via Google Analytics
4. Why We Collect It
We collect and process your data for the following purposes:
To deliver your purchased city guide
To provide customer support
To send occasional emails related to your purchase or new guide releases
To improve our site through anonymised analytics
To provide occasional loyalty perks.
Our legal basis for processing is contract performance (delivering your purchase) and legitimate interests (customer support and product updates).
5. Affiliate Links
Our guides contain affiliate links to third-party services including Booking.com and Omio. Clicking these links may result in those third parties collecting data about you in accordance with their own privacy policies. We do not share your personal data directly with affiliate partners.
We use Stay22 to optimize and manage our accommodation affiliate links (such as Booking.com). When you click on a hotel or lodging link, Stay22 uses limited cookies and tracking data (like your IP address) solely to credit us for the referral and ensure you are routed to the correct regional version of the booking site. No personal or financial information is shared with or stored by Stay22. You can view their full data practices in the Stay22 Privacy Policy.
6. Who We Share Your Data With
We share your data only with the following trusted third parties, strictly for the purposes described above:
Stripe — payment processing
Funnel Launch — guide delivery, email, and CRM
Google Analytics — anonymised site analytics
Stay22 — accommodation link optimization and referral tracking
We do not sell your data to any third party.
7. How Long We Keep Your Data
We retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfill your purchase, manage your community profile, and provide ongoing support, or until you request deletion. In line with Swedish tax regulations (Skatteverket) for hobby activities, basic order logs and revenue records (consisting only of your name, email, and purchase amount) are retained for up to 7 years for tax declaration purposes. We do not store, collect, or have access to your bank information or credit card details, which are handled entirely off-site by Stripe. If a digital guide or the EasyTransitGuide platform is permanently discontinued, all associated customer profiles and support data that are no longer strictly required for tax verification will be securely deleted or anonymized.
8. Your Rights Under GDPR
You have the right to:
Access the personal data we hold about you
Correct inaccurate data
Request deletion of your data
Object to how we process your data
Withdraw consent at any time where consent is the legal basis
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected]. We will respond as soon as possible.
9. Cookies
We use cookies to support basic site functionality and anonymised analytics via Google Analytics. You can disable cookies in your browser settings at any time. No personal data is collected through cookies alone.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version.
11. Governing Law
This policy is governed by the laws of Sweden and applicable EU regulations including GDPR.
